Getting to know the "Animators" (Leaders)!

A "junior youth animator" is a volunteer who has been trained to offer this program.

Maziyar Rajaie ("Muzzy") was born in Iran and moved to Hawai'i when he was 7yrs old. He lived on Lana'i, Big Island and then 'Oahu. The "gentle giant" is 6 feet and 6 inches tall (the same height as Michael Jordan!).
In February he married the lovely U'i Pimantel - the director of this program.
He is currently a student at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, working towards his doctorate in architecture.

Marcos Lewis is an enthusiastic young man from California who moved to Hawai'i to attend UH Manoa (he recently graduated with a BA in American Studies and is in the process of working towards a Masters in Eductaion).
In January he married Raina Rakki, a professional dancer and amazing soul (she was part of the Na 'Opio Project Leaders until she got
a job dancing in Waikiki Nei).
Marcos is the hip-hop go to guy- he's got the beats and he knows how to pop and lock it!

Treva Kameanui Greig from Maui moved to 'Oahu to attend Kamehameha schools (class of 2000!) and then went on to graduate from HPU.
She's paddled for years, and has been dancing hula with Halau I Ka Wekiu (she danced with her halau in the Merri Monarch competition of 2005).
She is the organizer extrordinare!
Not to menion the photojournalist of the group- all the pictures on this site are a result of this woman's work!

Clara Bowden- Kerby is an island girl (despite initial appearances). Born in Micronesia, elementary school in Puerto Rico, highschool in Fiji, and now college in Hawai'i (daughter of a marine boilogist), she is probabaly the world's only "Microfijawai'irican"!
She is attenting UH Manoa and is working towards a BA in Theatre with a minor in Dance in order to work with children and youth using the arts!
She danced with Halau Hula o Hali'ileo on Kaua'i before moving to 'Oahu.
